Tax Bill Explanations

* Parcel Number = Identification Number assigned to your property by the Wood County Auditor.
* Taxing District = Area where property is located.
* Location Address = Actual address of property.
* Stub No = Treasurers office use only.
* Tax Year = Real Estate taxes are collected one (1) year in arrears in the State of Ohio.
* Assessed Value = Assessed value is 35% of the market value of the property. In Ohio, property taxes are levied against the assessed value.
* Full Tax Rate = Total millage for the year. This is expressed in mills, not dollars.
* Effective Tax Rate = The Annual total millage LESS State mandated reductions. This is expressed in mills, not dollars.

Market Value = The market value of property is determined by reappraisals done by the County Auditor.
* R.E. Tax = Amount of tax before credits.
* Credit = Maintains the existing level of taxes paid on voted millage. The taxing district collects the same amount of revenue that was voted regardless of increased property values, except for added value from new construction.
* 10% Rollback = Tax relief measure adopted by the State Legislature which grants 10% across the board roll back on all real property tax bills annually (O.R.C.319.301).
* 2.5% Rollback = Applicable to owner-occupied homes (O.R.C.323.152(B). You must apply for this credit through the County Auditor.
* Homestead = A credit given to residential property owners who meet certain age, income, and other requirements. You must apply for this credit through the County Auditor.
* CAUV Recoup = Assessed amount if the parcel is removed from the farm credit program. One time charge.
* Specials = Total of the special assessments as listed at the left of this line.
* Escrow Paid = Amount pre-paid towards this tax billing.
* Delinquent R.E. = Amount owing prior to this tax billing.

Half Year = Pay this amount if you wish to pay only one-half or your tax. Another bill will be mailed to you in June for the 2nd half tax.
* Full Year = Pay this amount if you wish to pay the full years tax.
* County General = To operate county offices.
* Township = The Township your property is located in.
* School = Your local school district.
* Municipal = The City or Village your property is located in.
* Mental Retardation/Developmentally Disabled = Wood Lane school & other programs (voted levy) For more information contact 354-4376.
* Alcohol/Drug Addiction/Mental Health Services = (Voted levy) For more information contact 352-8475.

Children/Adult Protective Services = (Voted levy) For more information contact Job & Family Services Agency (formerly Human Services) 352-7566.
* Senior Citizen's = (Voted levy) For more information contact 353-5661.

Historical Society = To operate Historical Center.
* Health Department = (Voted levy).
*
Vocational School = Penta County, Vanguard, or Four County.
* Park = (Voted Levy).
* Misc = TARTA, Ft. Meigs Cemetary, Northwest EMS District, Central Joint Fire District, or Mid County Ambulance District.
* Payment Stub = Please return this with your payment.
